24 Hour Declined Credit Card Policy
After an auction closes, the winning bidder’s credit card on file is automatically charged applicable auction fees. The bidder’s card must have sufficient funds to cover these fees. If the credit card declines and 24 hours has expired since the auction closed, the facility has the option to offer the unit to an alternate bidder.
The below statement appears in the Auction Rules found at the bottom of each auction page:
- If the winning bidder has not submitted payment within 24 hours of the auction close time, the unit can be offered to alternate bidders.
When 24 hours has expired and the credit card is still declined, you can start a backup bidder case to offer the unit to backup bidders. Once a backup bidder case is started, the winning bidder will be suspended automatically from StorageTreasures. The backup bidders will be offered the unit at their highest bid amount. See How-To Start a Backup Bidder Case.
