New 24 Hour Declined Credit Card Policy
A new policy is in effect for bidders regarding declined credit card payments for auction fees. This has been added to the Auction Rules found at the bottom of each auction page:
- If the winning bidder has not submitted payment within 24 hours of the auction close time, the unit can be offered to alternate bidders.
How it Works
After an auction closes, the winning bidder’s credit card on file is automatically charged applicable auction fees. The bidder’s card must have sufficient funds to cover these fees. If the credit card declines and 24 hours has expired since the auction closed, the facility has the option to offer the unit to an alternate bidder.
A member of ST Customer Support will contact the facility at that time, for authorization to sell the auction to alternate bidders. If the facility agrees, the winning bidder will be suspended from StorageTreasures, and alternate bidders will be offered the unit at their highest bid amount. If the alternate bidder accepts, their credit card will be charged the auction fees, and a new paid invoice will be sent to both parties. The new bidder will need to clean out the unit in the time frame stated in the auction, which time commences when the new invoice is generated.
We are interested to hear your feedback with this new policy.
Your continued business is appreciated!
